NORTHERN CALIFORNIA’S POPULAR TOURING SERIES FOR MODIFIED RACE CARS

The North State Modified Series, presented by Protect the Harvest, is a traveling modified auto racing series that competes at facilities in Northern and Central California. This series works in conjunction with the well-established southern-based Lucas Oil Modified Series.

The North State Modified Series (NSMS) was formed in 2014 by long-time racer and car owner Jeff Stephens of Rio Linda, California, and 2003 Auto Racing Promoters of the Year, Bob & Nadine Strauss of Lucerne, California.

This series gives those men and women who want to race, but not at the same track on a weekly basis, the opportunity to compete at a professional level with full fields of race cars. Our competing modified drivers currently hail from the northern part of Oregon all the way to the southern part of California.

The North State Modified Series just completed its fifth season. During those five years the series competed at 7 different facilities including, Shasta Speedway (Anderson CA), Redwood Acres Raceway (Eureka, CA), All American Speedway (Roseville, CA), Madera (CA) Speedway, Stockton 99 (CA) Speedway, Lakeport (CA) Speedway and Ukiah (CA) Speedway.  The series expands into Oregon in 2019 with a race at the Douglas County Speedway in Roseburg, Oregon.

The Series had 48 different modified drivers compete in 2018 with a high of 27 cars and an average of 20 cars per event. NSMS dedicated its 2018 racing season to cancer awareness and research, and the “Driving Out Cancer Tour” collected and donated over $5,500 toward cancer awareness.

In 2018 the North State Modified Series was sponsored by: Protect the Harvest, Lucas Oil, Hoosier Tires West, Naake Suspension, Sunoco Fuels, Five Star Bodies, Ward Land Management & Development, Racer Bling, Scribner Plastics, Buckhorn Bar & Grill, Mort Houston, and Frank’s Radios.
